Review? Review!

'Allo loverlies!

I went to review yesterday, but I was dragged to Rampworx, and then I got back at 10pm, so I watched Criminal Minds, watched the end of a comedy show my mum used to watch (Black Books or something, it was really good), and then went up to bed. I would've blogged earlier today, but Danica got me hooked on Dorm Life, so I spent the day watching both season's of that, and all of the bonus videos. More on that in my BEDFAY blog on Tuesday, though.

So! On Wednesday, I went to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Now, this film was good, I mean, the cave scene with Dumbledore's fire was amazing, but I can't help feeling they've messed Deathly Hallows up a lot.
For example;

-Burning down The Burrow; I didn't feel this did anything for the plot. I've read the argument that it was to show how big this war is, but for anyone who hasn't read the book, it doesn't make any sense, because it was just...well, pointless. Nothing happened in the film because of it. Plus, most of the beginning of DH is set in The Burrow, so, maybe they could rebuild it by magic, but then that just makes it seem even stupider.

-Cutting out the Ministry plotline; I realise that this doesn't seem that big a deal, but, still, it was irritating.

-Tonks and Lupin were together for the whole film; I guess this was because they were planning on cutting out the battle at the end, so Bill didn't get injured, so Fleur doesn't get to start the whole "he's still going to love me" thing, so Tonks can't get mad at Lupin and tell him that "she doesn't care", but they need to be together for Teddy's existence, but I mean, Tonk's hair should've been pink if they were going to do that to us.

-No Bill and Fleur?; The wedding at the beginning of DH will be a bit of a surprise now, and there'll be no reason for Harry, Ron and Hermione to stick around if they don't include this, but then it'll be a shock when they go to Shell Cottage, which needs to be included because it's where Dobby is buried, and fans will (probably) be mad if they cut this out or move it, so it was just silly.

-Cutting out the battle at the end!; I know everyone is annoyed about this, so I won't even bother writing out why it made me mad, because you already know.

-Just something me and my friend, Alex, agreed on; the actor playing Slughorn failed at playing Slughorn. Don't know whether you guys agree, but that's what we think.

-Harry and Ginny didn't actually get together; THIS IS JUST BAD, OKAY?

-Harry was just standing there, free to move about, but not stopping Draco?; Come on, let's not make the poor lad look even more pathetic.

-SNAPE USED HIS OWN WAND; Erm, HELLO?!

-Harry didn't have a chance to see the diadem; This was crucial!

-NOTHING was said about possible horcruxes; DO THEY THINK VOLDEMORT WILL JUST DESTROY THEM HIMSELF, OR STAND THERE GIVING OUT LEAFLETS ABOUT THE VARIOUS HORCRUXES AND WHERE TO FIND THEM?!

Something I did, really, really like, was Tom Felton's acting. Best he's been in a HP film, no doubt.

I think there's more, but again, I'm a little tired, and I was looking through a conversation Alex and I had about it, and now we're just talking about monocles (ha, sounds like we're talking now, but we're not, even though he should be here sending me songs, dammit!), so I think I'll leave it there.

If you agree or disagree with any of this, I'd love to hear, so leave a comment or summit, darlings.

Erm, Title.

I know I didn't review anything on Friday, but c'mon, I broke up for the Summer holidays on Friday!

Here's a quick post to let you guys know what's gone on and how I'm feeling lately.

-Friday I was supposed to be going to see my grandad because it was his birthday, but my auntie was taking him out for his dinner, so we couldn't go. I'd told everyone I couldn't go out because I was going to see my grandad, so I ended up sitting in my house all night.

-Saturday I went to see my grandad. He was fine and dandy, and had a nice squishy purple pillow that used to belong to his friend across the hall (he's in a home), but his friend passed away. He left my grandad the pillow, and a chair which has buttons to lean backwards and stuff, which is very fun. He's had the chair for a while, but I only saw the pillow today.

-Saturday night, I babysat my cousin, Leon. It was pretty easy because he was already in bed asleep, so all Maria (my younger sister) and I had to do was keep him asleep. He woke up like 3 times, and we just shushed him back to sleep. We watched Family Guy and My Best Friend's Wedding, which is amazing. And we had Pepsi!

In other news, Kate, being the amazing best friend she is, finally read Harry Potter for me! She'd never read it because no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get into it, but she stuck it out, and she liked it! She's reading Chamber of Secrets now, which I don't like myself, and she's taking Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire on holiday with her, so yay!

Now, I think I'll go and have some food. Oh, and I should be either going to see HP6 this week, or buying a new book, so I should have a review next Friday.
And ack! I'm already getting muddled with the days; I thought it was Monday! Imma have to set a reminder on my phone to tell me when it's Tuesday!

A New Hope.

Happy Saturday, guys and gals.

So, I was just sat here thinking, "Hey, Caitlin, you're blogs are pretty rubbish, right?" I agreed with myself. "So how about you have like...a review day, or something? Like, on a Friday, you could review something. Books, music, films..."

So I decided I would. I mean, I might not be able to do it every week, because I might not see/read/hear anything worth reviewing, for example, if I watched a film everybody already had opinions on, read a pretty well known book, didn't hear any new bands or bands I already listen to didn't bring out new songs, but when there's something, I'll review it.

I'm pretty excited about the thought that my blogs will have an actual point now, because they're usually just...well, pointless.

As you can see, I'm still in a Star Wars mood, so I decided to give this little blog a nerd title. D'you get it? Because it's the title of Episode IV and I'm doing something new with my blog...yeah...

Also, Jamie is back from Maine today (I love the way I say that as if there's still not the atlantic ocean between us xD), and she's either getting her laptop fixed or a new one soon, so yay!

Thanks for reading, Chicken,

Oh, Danny-Boy...

GUESS WHAT I DID.

I didn't blog at the beginning of the school year, but I kind of failed playing Amazing Grace (I played an extra D and Mr.MusicTeacher gave me a 3! I was really proud of that, it was well worth a 1). My composition got a better mark (it was either 1- or 2+), but I was still only on a 6C whereas my target was a 6A. I had to get a really good mark on my last performance to achieve my target.

We all picked different things (no, that's a lie, most people picked Z Cars or Imagine), but I chose Danny-Boy, and I was the only person in my class to choose this piece. I love this song, so I practiced my little phalanges off, and I'd learnt the piece soon. With chords. Yes, I use both hands when playing the keyboard, because this is so unusual...

Anyway, today was performance day. Three people went first out of choice, and then Mr.MusicTeacher took in our files, shuffled them, and then we had to perform. I think about two people went before he called my name, and looked at me (there's two Caitlin's in my class, we're the only two in the year as well). I sighed, took a deep breath, as I shake when I'm nervous (and cold), and began to play. I'd played the first 8 bars (I think it was 8) before he told me to stop. He then said something along the lines of,

"I'm going to ask you to stop there, because most people's songs stop at this point, but yours just keeps going and going, doesn't it?" I smiled and nodded; this was true. He carried on, "What you've played was fluent, it was played beautifully, and it was all the right notes," I held my breath, for as he'd stopped me near the beginning, I was fairly sure he was about to tell me I'd done something terribley wrong and fail me, but he carried on, "if it's okay, I'm going to ask you to leave it there so we have time for other people. But that's a 1." I breathed a sigh of relief; I was perfectly happy with this.

But apparently the rest of the class wasn't. They started demanding I was given a 1*, as, to quote my friend Kathryn "it was the best so far". And so he did, he gave me a 1*, and I haven't failed music.

I've hated music this year, but I've passed, and I never have to do it again. And now if anyone asks me what I can play on the piano/keyboard, I have something to play.

I love you if you've read this far. Take a cookie.

Sid Vicious Was Innocent.

Some of you know who my sister Emma is, as she's blogged in my place on BEDFAY, and I mention her a lot. Emma and I both believe that Sid didn't kill Nancy, and Emma rants about it a lot. She made this video today.

That's all. Comment on whether you agree or disagree.

Haiku.

Sometimes, friends say things
That they don't actually mean
Which destroys friendships

-----------------------------

This little haiku popped into my head just now, when I was thinking about how many of my friends are fighting about something or other now with one of their friends, and even though in each fight, it's obvious that they all still want to be friends, whether they admit it or not, they're all too stubborn to admit it, so they keep fighting, and pretty soon, that friendship will be in tatters, so there'll be nothing to go back to, even if they want to. I know it isn't perfect, and it doesn't make complete sense if you look at it for too long, but I think it's quite obvious what it means.

Thought-Thieves

You know what I hate? You know when someone comes up with this really funny, original thought that you know only that person would've thought of? And then someone takes it and goes and says it to somebody else (this somebody else is always someone who doesn't know or isn't friends with the creator of the thought) and acts as if they made that up? I hate that.

It really does my head in the way they'll go and say that somewhere where the first person wouldn't hear or see it, so then people think this person (the thief) is really creative and hilarious, and then whenever someone mentions that thought, everyone else will be like "Oh yeah, ------ thought of that, didn't s/he?!" and you'll just be sat there like, "Well, no actually, ----- did, ------ just took it." But nobody will believe it, and will just assume the person who originally came up with it got it off the thief.

It annoys me even more, if the thief is always moaning about people "copying" them (when in actual fact, everyone is doing this certain thing, but in their funny little mind, they've twisted the world to make everyone want to be them).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I won't say something funny if someone else says it to me, but I'll always start (or end) with "Haha, yeah, ----- asked me/told me/ said this..." because I know for a fact that I hate it when people get credit for my work, so why should I take credit for somebody else? When I get credit for something, I like to know that I've done something worth being proud of, so a thought-thief has to be really pathetic to act like they do.

Sorry for my little rant, but I just really wanted to say that.

This Is A Title.

I haven't posted for ages, so please read my catch-up blog here. That way, I can carry on posting blogs here, knowing that you know I didn't just abandon this blog. I love this blog!
